Additional Service Required Serial Numbers
Inertia Wheels will require an additional PCB upgrade at NODO HQ in Los Angeles. This service requires a service technician to change out the main Inertia Wheels PCB. This PCB swap brings the Inertia Wheels controller PCB with the current standard.
If your unit has SN 10000-11040 email matt@nodo.film with your serial number and ideal service date for a quote and lead time.
FAQ:
Can all Inertia Wheels be upgraded?
Yes. However, some Inertia Wheels require an additional service step to be performed at NODO HQ before the motors can be swapped. If your unit has SN 10000-11040 email matt@nodo.film with your serial number and ideal service date for a quote and lead time.
What is involved in the at-home upgrade?
You will remove your current brushless wheels with two bolts, carefully detaching the internal cables. Install the new wheels reattaching the cables and installing the bolts, and install new firmware which enables you to select your motors.
What happens to my old wheels and old foam?
You keep them and can use them as a backup if needed. You can change back to them at any time using the reverse process. The new foam is universal and can fit both wheels. You should recycle your old foam according to local regulations.
What if I would like a service technician to perform the swap?
We are happy to perform this swap for our standard hourly service fee. Please email matt@nodo.film to schedule this.
What about my warranty?
As with all new parts you purchase from NODO either online or via service, they come with a standard 1-year warranty. This includes parts you install at home.
Why do some serial numbers require an additional cost and service at NODO HQ?
These serial numbers wheels have main PCBs which, for multiple reasons, are not able to drive the Inertia Wheels MAX motors. The replacement of these boards requires disassembling the entire Inertia Wheels involving many parts. It also requires a full QC to ensure the installation was performed correctly. It involves many more technical steps than can be performed at home.
